Claire
was brought up in Aberdyfi from the age of six and is very much part
of the village. As a child she was encouraged to paint and draw by her
father, watercolour artist Edward Morris. Following
teacher training in physical education and art, Claire taught for three
years in Hong Kong before deciding to pursue painting as a full time
career. She took over the Gallery in 1982 having been drawn back to
the area by the rich scenery of both land and seascape, which provide
the inspiration for her watercolours. |
Glyn
came to live in Aberdyfi in 1975 to join the Outward Bound Staff. He has
always had a passion for drawing and painting. The Chance to explore the
Welsh mountains and valleys , combined with sailing and canoeing trips
offered endless inspiration. A chance meeting with Edward Morris became
very influential in focusing on colour, light and atmospheric scenery.
Glyn subsequently met the Morris's daughter, Claire, also an artist and
they married two years later..
Glyn paints in watercolours, line and wash, acrylic and pastels and has exhibited his paintings prints and cards at the Gallery Aberdyfi since 1982. |
