Gerry Lynch

Born in Liverpool in 1953, Gerry moved to North Wales in 1973. Having trained as a teacher, specialising in Outdoor Education at Bangor, he ran the YHA`s climbing courses for 3 years before taking over the business independently. Since then he has substantially broadened the scope of the business, in both the range of activities and development training offered. Throughout this time he has continued to work in partnership with other people, which he feels continues his personal development and ensures that he keeps up to date with current best practice.

He feels that his association with Challenge, which extends for more than a decade, is due to the variety of work and the like minded people involved. Those that put “quality of life” issues to the forefront.

As with work Gerry has a variety of interests, which he enjoys with his family and friends. These include mountaineering, climbing, paragliding, sailing and canoeing.

Outside of these, he is a member of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team and
