Dave has been working in the outdoors since 1961; the last twenty years mainly involved with Management Courses as a course Administrator, Safety Officer and Facilitator. He acts as the Health and Safety Advisor for Challenge LBD and before that for the Challenge Group. Dave is a qualified teacher; having qualified on the old Cert. Ed. system, he then gained a degree through the Open University.
He has worked in various fields within the outdoor world, as Chief Instructor at an Intermediate Outdoor Training Centre for delinquents, as Headmaster for an Education Authority Outdoor Centre, and as Operations Manager for Challenge Group. But for the larger proportion of time he has run his own business as a freelance Outdoor Operator. Qualifications:

Work Preferences: Dave enjoys working with all sorts of groups; from junior school children right through to Directors of Multi-National Companies. He is happy to support others or take the lead role, but particularly enjoys working within a team and making difficult projects work. He believes that tasks based loosely around the outdoors have the power to create a good learning environment. He also believes that all tasks created using the outdoors must have roles within them for all types of people, the Doers, the Thinkers, the Creators and the Philosophers.
