The UK's leading under-30s orchestra
A new generation of live music.
Sinfonia Cymru is not your average orchestra. We like to do things differently. Sticking to the rule book and following the crowd? It simply isn't for us. For a start, all our players are under 30. Many of them take the helm and lead our projects, dancing between classical and modern styles, exploring their creativity and challenging norms.
We put some of the most talented, professional musicians in the UK on the stage they deserve, so that they can build their careers and develop their musicianship. In return, they bring a special spark to their music-making, creating performances bursting with energy, excitement and power. This is music the way it's meant to be experienced.

Zaffiro. Nicolas et Stephanie.
When a green-eyed singer-accordionist meets a French (sorry, Breton) bald double-bassist obsessed with the dorian mode somewhere in a remote part of Wales over their shared love of languages, only one thing can happen, the birth of a musical duo called Zaffiro.
Zaffiro explores music from around the globe with a unique combination of voice, accordion and double bass (with occasional mandolin, flute, and bodhran playing too). ‘
‘This evening Zaffiro will be performing solely French repertoire…and a few Breton pieces too all served with French wine and cheese brought to your table.'

Possible
Message to Aberdyfi
is a playful, honest and heartfelt piece of storytelling that blurs reality with a kaleidoscopic dreamscape of animation and film (by Bear Thompson), underscored with original music performed live by John Biddle. It's a show about love, creativity and finding the courage to explore the past, in order to shape the future.

Shôn Dale-Jones' new show was going to be all about love. But what do you do when you're writing a show all about love, and everything goes dark? You find a new story. A story with scones after midnight, family WhatsApp groups and Grandmaster Flash. Possible is a playful, honest and heartfelt piece of theatre that combines storytelling with original music, animation and film. It's a show about love, connection and finding the courage to explore the past, in order to shape the future. 'As intimate as livestreamed theatre can be.' **** (Guardian)
